About Us

Public History at Saint Mary's College of California

In 2018, the History Department at Saint Mary's College received a Humanities Access Grant from the National Endowment of the Humanities (NEH) to create an undergraduate Public History curriculum and community engagement outreach initiative. This blog features our undergraduate Public History students, who are learning about and practicing public history through community engagement courses and internships. We are filled with gratitude to see some of our students working with curators at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History in Washington D.C. during Jan Term. Follow their experiences here! Coming soon...learn more about our work with National History Day and exploring our own community's immigration stories.
